[Event Recap] VGDA C-LEVEL Private Cafe Hanoi

Take a look back at C-LEVEL CAFÉ #3 – Hanoi and the perspectives shared on financial management, cross-border payments, and revenue optimization for Game businesses on their journey toward global growth.

[Event Recap] VGDA C-LEVEL Private Cafe Hanoi

Introduction

On August 24, C-LEVEL CAFÉ #3 – HANOI took place with the participation of Founders, C-Level executives, and business representatives from the Vietnam Game Developers Community. Organized by VGDA, with the participation of Sliner Consulting, Airwallex, and Aghanim, the event provided an opportunity for industry representatives to exchange perspectives on practical challenges in operating, developing, and expanding their businesses.
With the aim of connecting business leaders and fostering professional exchange, C-LEVEL CAFÉ focused on the challenges that game publishers are directly facing as they expand their operations. During the event, the challenges of global growth and expansion were approached from three different perspectives: Financial Management, Cross-Border Payments, and Revenue Optimization.

1. Financial Management for Global Growth

As studios and game publishers expand their operations across multiple markets, the requirements for financial management, accounting, and taxation also become increasingly complex. Growing revenue, multiple sources of transactions, and differences in regulations across countries create the need for a financial system capable of keeping pace with business operations and supporting decision-making.
Sliner Consulting focused on financial management perspectives within a global business model, with an emphasis on how businesses can build standardized accounting systems and teams that are appropriate for the specific operational characteristics of the Game industry. In particular, as businesses enter stages of scaling, fundraising, investment, or M&A, a standardized accounting foundation can enhance the transparency of financial data, support cash flow management, and provide a basis for business assessment and due diligence. This enables businesses to take a more proactive approach to management and make appropriate decisions at each stage of development.

2. Solutions for Cross-Border Payments

When operating across multiple markets, Game businesses must handle an increasing number of transactions with international partners and customers, creating greater requirements for payment speed, cash flow management, and transaction transparency.
Airwallex brought perspectives on international payment challenges, along with solutions that support businesses in managing cross-border transactions more effectively. An appropriate payment system not only helps simplify operations but also provides a flexible financial foundation that enables businesses to be more proactive when expanding into new markets.

3. Increasing Revenue and Optimizing Profitability

Alongside strengthening financial and payment infrastructure, the ability to develop and optimize revenue streams is also an important factor in the growth strategies of Game studios. Particularly for mobile games, diversifying monetization models can create additional growth opportunities and improve business performance.
One of the approaches discussed by Aghanim was the DTC (Direct-to-Consumer) model, through a platform that supports studios in building direct sales channels to players. This approach enables businesses to expand their revenue channels while increasing their control over monetization activities and player engagement.
This is also a noteworthy direction as studios increasingly focus not only on expanding their user base, but also on maximizing the value generated from each player and building more sustainable revenue models.

Conclusion

The participation of VGDA, Sliner Consulting, Airwallex, and Aghanim in the event brought complementary perspectives to a shared challenge: building a strong enough foundation for Vietnamese Game businesses to expand their operations and compete in international markets.
We sincerely thank VGDA, our supporting partners, and all participating business representatives for organizing and joining the event, contributing to a meaningful and practical event for Vietnam’s gaming industry.
